More Resources

Energy efficient appliances cost less to run, reduce air pollution, and help conserve natural resources. Investing in certified ENERGY STAR appliances has the potential to save you $100s to $1000s annually. When shopping for new or used appliances, always look for the ENERGY STAR label.

Earning the ENERGY STAR means a product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.

If an appliance doesn’t have the ENERGY STAR label, consider the following before making   your purchase. Buying the “cheaper” appliance may cost you much more in the long run.

EnergyGuide-label

  • Read the EnergyGuide label
  • Compare the energy use of competing models
  • Consider both initial purchase price and longterm costs from estimated energy use.
