On May 15, 2012, the Public Service Commission of Utah approved a new pilot program to help Utah households cut energy waste.

The "Home Energy Reporting Program," proposed by Rocky Mountain Power, will provide information to a sampling of its customers about their energy usage compared to their neighbors and make energy-saving recommendations. Utah Clean Energy, the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, and other parties helped shape the pilot program, which uses innovative strategies s to make saving energy engaging and fun.
