Clean Energy defined:
"Clean energy" is energy that produces little or no pollution or CO2 emissions. Renewable energy and energy efficiency are collectively referred to as "clean energy".
“Renewable energy” is energy that is derived from natural resources that are continually replenished (or renewed). Renewable energy resources include: biomass, hydro, geothermal, solar and wind. Renewable energy resource do not require mining and extraction, unlike conventional non-renewable energy resources.
"Energy efficiency" is a means to reduce demand for energy of any type, generally through substituting more advanced technological equipment, while providing the same (or better) quality products and services. Common energy efficiency measures include hundreds of technologies and processes, such as: high efficiency appliances, lighting, heating and cooling systems, improved insulation, daylighting, and advanced building controls.
